I drove for uber and a company called senior shuttle. i used the standard mileage deduction. why am i being asked to fill out a car and truck expense sheet.

Even when you use the standard mileage deduction, you have to enter some information about your vehicle and the amount of miles driven for business. In addition you can deduct amounts paid for tolls and interest on your car loan.

 

Once you enter that information, you will get a question about comparing to actual expenses. If you answer that No, you won't be asked about things like repairs, insurance and oil.
