Question

I entered an HSA contribution under deductions, and then realized I have an FSA, not an HSA. I can't find or get rid of the deduction using the edit button. Glitch?

I've gone through an checked "none" for everything, and there still doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of that deduction.

When you enter a HSA contribution, TurboTax will create form 8889 in your tax return.

You'll have to delete that form 8889.

To delete it, please follow these steps:

  1. In TurboTax, open your return
  2. In the left-hand column, locate Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow then click on Tools
  3. On the Tools Center  page, click on Delete a form
  4. A list of forms will appear. Locate the form 8889 and click Delete next to it.
  5. On the next screen, click Delete Form
