Question

I entered info for HSA income by mistake, and now I can't delete the info. Any advice on how to delete HSA income?

Try deleting the form as follows:

  • Log into your account
  • Click on My Account at the top of the screen
  • Then click on Tools and select Delete a Form
  • Scroll through the list of forms and when you find the HSA form (usually form 8889), click Delete next to it
  • It will confirm that you want to delete the form, hit yes (or continue)
  • The form will be deleted

This should eliminate the income you erroneously added.

When filing your taxes, you are required to file IRS Form 8889 if you (or someone on your behalf, including your employer) made contributions to your HSA, or if you received HSA distributions for the year. For other conditions, see the IRS instructions for the 8889 Form.
