I filed last year as surviving spouse and I believe I filed all of the appropriate materials with the government. Turbotax still is asking for a joint return. Help?

Assuming your spouse passed in 2018, then for your 2019 taxes you have to work through the Personal Info section and change from joint to single.

If your passed spouse was listed first on the return, then you "may or may not" have issues. If you do have issues, then you will need to create a completely new account and start your own new return. You will not be able to import "ANYTHING" from last year's return. You wouldn't want to anyway if your passed spouse was listed first on last years return.  But if you have qualified carry overs from 2018, then you will have to enter them manually.
