I forgot to enter my donation to a charity, but my return has been accepted, can I still add this?

Since your return has already been accepted, you'd need to amend if you want to include this donation.

But consider, did you have enough itemized deductions on the return you submitted to exceed your standard deduction?  If so, it might be worth your while, especially if the donation were a significant amount.

But if your itemized deductions won't exceed your standard deduction, even with this charitable contribution, there's no point in amending.

At any rate, I've included TurboTax FAQ "How to amend (change or correct) a return you already filed" below.
