Question

I had a $5,000 FSA for 2018 and then spent an additional ~$5,000 on child care for 3 kids. How do I make sure that this is entered correctly so I receive the child care credit?

Just follow the steps.  Make sure you list your correct qualifying care expenses for each child with the child's SSN as well as the provider's tax ID number (SSN or business EIN).  The FSA should be in box 10 of your W-2, Turbotax will detect it automatically.  The maximum eligible expenses with 2+ children is $6000, and you have $5000 covered by the FSA, so an additional $1000 is eligible for the credit.  (Probably 20% or $200 at what I am guessing your income level is.)

This is all automatic in the program and on form 2441.
