I HAD to buy deluxe for property tax. I just paid $53.00 for your disc. WE ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY ONLY! But we still have a house. YOU WANT MORE TO FINISH STATE!!!!!!!!

I KNOW WE WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY MONEY BACK JUST NEED TO FILL IN THE DATA SO I CAN GET THE PROPERTY TAX PAPERWORK..... WE DON'T FILE ANYMORE BECAUSE IT'S $00.00, SO WHY CAN'T I GET PAST THIS PAY MORE TO FINISH MY STATE? I PAID ENOUGH FOR THIS DISC. WE DON'T HAVE W2's.

If you are using desktop software which you installed from a CD, then when you e-file the state there is a fee to e-file the state return. But you can file it for free if you print the state return and mail it instead of e-filing it.

If your only income is Social Security you are not required to file a federal tax return. And you will not be able to e-file a "zero" federal return. Or did you have some other income from pensions, etc.?

It sounds as if you need to file because of some sort of state credit for property taxes--is that correct? If that is not why you are filing, you may not need to prepare a tax return at all.
