Question

I have a 1099-B from an investment that was my mothers and we only found it via abandoned property in MA, not sure what to use for a cost basis?

I received the 1099b for the sale of shares but there's no date of purchase or cost basis and turbo tax forces you to enter a purchase price, what should we use?

The basis is zero unless you can come up with a better amount ... did she pass ? If so the FMV is the DOD price.
