The cost to add a bathroom to your home does not factor into your home office deduction. The home office deduction is based on the square footage of the space used regularly and exclusively for your business and is your principal place of business

(In addition, if you're working at home for an employer, your home office must be for the convenience of your employer – not just you.)

The cost will add to your basis in the home, which figures in to your gain or losss when selling the home.
