I have to pay to park my car at our city office 2/3x a week, would this count as a Employment exspense for my taxes?

I’m a hybrid employee who commutes into the city 2/3x a week and I have to pay $20 each day to park my car in the parking garage next to our office building.

No.

 

The costs of commuting to and from work are not deductible.   And if you are a W-2 employee, you cannot deduct any job-related expenses on a federal tax return.

 

Sorry---W-2 employees cannot deduct job-related expenses on a federal return.  Job-related expenses were eliminated as a federal deduction for W-2 employees by the tax laws that changed for 2018 and beyond.

If you are a W2 employee sorry you can no longer deduct expenses.  And commuting has never been deductible.
