Question

I have two 1098 forms because my mortgage was transferred. Do I add the property taxes on each form together, or are both forms giving me the total taxes paid fortheyear?

Your mortgage company would only report the property tax that they paid out of escrow on your behalf. Therefore, you should add them together. If you want to be sure, go to County Tax Commissioner's website and look up your property tax bill for 2020. It's a public record and you should be able to look it up by any one of several way, including Name, address, parcel number, etc.
