TurboTax will automatically select the deduction that gives you the best outcome on your federal taxes. To see which deduction gives you the higher refund: Sign in to your account. Go to Federal Taxes. Go to Deductions and Credits. Scroll down and click Wrap up Tax Breaks. On the following screen you can see the refund that you will receive based on each deduction, you can see the breakdown of your itemized deductions and you can change the deduction.

I'm at deductions & credits in filling out my return and its telling me the Standard Deduction is $13,850 how do I know if that would be better than itemized?
