I only had a home office for 6 months, since I lost my job. Do I enter expenses for the entire year? I can't tell if TurboTax prorates totals.

Yes, TurboTax asks you as part of setting up the home office it's size relative to the size of the home and how many months of at least 15 days you used your home office.
TurboTax will allocate expenses based upon the relative size and time.
