I own a second home outright, but pay county taxes on it. How can I deduct those taxes?

You can deduct county taxes paid on all your properties.

To enter Property taxes paid in TurboTax, please follow these steps:

  • Click on Federal Taxes
  • Click on Deductions & Credits
  • Under All Tax breaks, locate the section Your Home and click on Show more
  • Click Start next to Property (Real estate) Taxes (see attached screenshot).
