Question

I paid for child care in 2024, so I should get a tax break if I was working. Although the only options it gives me are- "Were you in School?" of "Were you disabled"?

Have you entered any taxable income from work on the 2024 tax return?  If married and filing jointly has your spouse entered any taxable income from work?

You will need to enter your W-2's before going to that section.  If you are married, you will need to make sure you enter a W-2 for BOTH of you.  Be sure that when you enter the W-2 that you select the correct name for the person you are entering it for.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I did skip my spouse income info as I am waiting on that. So it's safe to assume that once that has been entered, the option will pop up for me? Thanks!

Yes, when your spouses income is entered, as long as you qualify for the Child and Dependent Care Credit, it will pop up.
