I purchased some sound equipment for my church. What category for charitable deductions should this be filed under?

This equipment was purchased for the church to use. I need to know which category to put it under. There is not an other category. It isn't business or personal property. It's purpose was for church use. Equipment included Direct Input boxes and cords for sound equipment, and microphones.

This would be a personal property donation since you personally purchased and donated the property.

To enter your sound equipment for your church:

  1. Click on Federal Taxes
  2. Deductions and Credits
  3. "I'll choose what I work on"
  4. Scroll down to Charitable Donations
  5. Click Start next to Donations to Charity in 2017
  6. Click Yes to "Do you want to enter your donations for 2017"?
  7. Click Add next to Items
  8. You can then enter the donations using either "Guide Me" or "I'll value them"
  9. When choosing the category- you can choose "Personal Property
