I received a 1099 with Foreign tax paid, but the form did not have box 7 for the country filled in. This fails the Smart Check, how can this be worked around?

The form had two mutual fund with foreign tax paid but without the country code filled in.

You can just use the "various" code for the country if the country code is missing from your 1099.
