I refinanced my main home which incorporated the original loan and an equity loan. How do I enter the interest for all 3 on my turbo tax return?

I have interest from the original loan taken in 2013, interest on the equity taken in 2013 and interest on the current loan taken in 2016.

Since you probably have information on three separate 1098 forms, you will enter them as three separate lenders (even though the same lender may be entered more than one time).  To do this, click on the blue Add a Lender link on the Home Loan Deduction Summary screen.  This will allow you to enter the information from the additional forms.

Use these steps to go to the mortgage interest section of your return:

    • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)

    • This opens a box where you can type in “mortgage interest” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)

    • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to mortgage interest

    • Click on the blue “Jump to mortgage interest” link
