I wanted to know why I got 500 per child And everyone who made my the same amount as me last year got 2000 per child. No I never received the child take payments

What tax year are you asking about? If you only got the $500 credit for other dependents instead of the child tax credit for your children---then either you did not enter some information correctly or they were too old --- how old were the children? Do they have Social Security numbers? Did they live with you for at least half the year?
