I wasn’t able to file my taxes by the due date one year, but I can’t remember what year. So I am wondering how I would find out?

The best way to find out would be to contact the IRS or your state taxing authority to ask which taxes have not been filed.

The following TurboTax article gives several options for contacting the IRS. One such option is to request a tax transcript. You could use this option to request a transcript for the year you suspect was not filed. If you get a transcript, then that means it was filed.

The other option would be to call the IRS so that they can check your records. Just be aware that the phone lines may be very busy.
