I work for a armored truck company and had to buy a gun,body armor,duty belt,tactical pants and boots and ammo would that count as a expenses for out of pocket?

No.  Starting with the tax law changes implemented in 2018, these expenses by an employee are no longer deductible on your federal tax return.  Depending on your state, there may still be a deduction for "unreimbursed employee expenses".  States that still permit this deduction include (but may not be limited to) Arkansas, California, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota.

 

If you enter them in the section Deductions & Credits>>Employment Expenses>>Job-Related Expenses, TurboTax will carry them to your state return, if applicable.
