If a major purchase(Truck,RV) is split/shared between two people, do they both separately add it in when filling in possible sales tax deductions?

My partner and I both bought a truck and a travel trailer. We are both on the contracts and titles and we split the payments. We are not sure if we can both claim the sales tax deductions from the large purchases, or if just one of us can.

Since you are splitting the payments, presumably each of you paid half of the sales tax. You can each claim your half of the sales tax on your returns. Just be sure to enter half of the cost on each return so it is calculated correctly.
