If I claim the Child Tax Credit will it delay my refund?

Claiming only the Child Tax credit will not delay your refund. Only refunds to taxpayers claiming the Earned Income credit and the Additional Child Tax credit will be delayed until after February 15.

Oh I thought they were one in the same. It is the credit on line 13a

If you qualify for the child tax credit it is added to your tax return automatically---you do not "claim" it. If you are getting the additional child tax credit--the refundable portion--then your refund is held per the PATH act .
