Question

If I did not have any income last year, can I still qualify for the child tax credit

I was in a high risk pregnancy and had to stop working September of 2023, as a single mom I did not have the ability to work after my daughter was born March of 2024. Am I still eligible for the child credit or am I just out of luck until next years tax returns?

    Sorry no.  You need earned income.  If you didn’t have any income you don’t need to file a tax return.  Unless you got a 1095A for health ins from the marketplace.
