If I got divorced and this is the first home I have purchased by myself, does that count as being a first home purchase?

Depends, you could also be considered a first-time buyer due to divorce, but this requires that the only primary residence you have ever owned was with your ex-spouse, and you must be a parent.

Or, if three years have passed since you were previously a homeowner before making another home purchase, you would then qualify as a first-time buyer.
