If I have no children, why does form 8812 keep popping up?

Enter a 0 (zero) on the Schedule 8812 when asked to enter a number in a field of the form.  Once this is completed the Schedule 8812 will not be included in your tax return and you can file the return.

    Because some people will have gotten the credit and then not claimed a dependent (such as divorced parents who share custody), Turbotax asks everyone just to be on the safe side.  If you did get the credit, and Turbotax didn't ask, your refund would be delayed for verification, or just rejected.
