If I have two children, why am I only getting the child tax credit for one child?

How old are your children?   If one is older than 16 you do not get the CTC for them--instead you get the $500 credit for other dependents.   Or....is one a newborn?  If so, you have to say in My Info that they lived with you for the whole year.
