If I purchase a desk to set up a home office for a new job where I will be working from home, can that purchase be a tax write-off when I file my 2021 taxes next year?

This is a new job I am about to start. The desk would be used for both my personal computer and my work computer(my current desk is not big enough for both). I will be required to work from home every day until at least September, at which time the company will re-assess whether employees can go into the office or not.

Unfortunately, as an employee, you can no longer deduct job-related expenses.

Under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the itemized deductions for job-related expenses subject to the 2% of AGI floor are suspended for expenses incurred after December 31, 2017 through 2025.
