Question

If I work for a K-12 school as an administrator (not a teacher or a principal) can I deduct my expenses? These would be things like postage and office expenses.

Yes, if you meet the hours worked requirement.  If you're a teacher, instructor, counselor, aide, or principal (eligible educators) that works at least 900 hours in a school that provides K–12 education, you can deduct up to $300 in unreimbursed expenses for books, supplies, and equipment used in the classroom.

Educators include classroom teachers, school administrators, and other support professionals, such as guidance counselors and media specialists.
