Question

If the 1098 doesn't list property taxes, do I add this into the TT page titled "let's get the details from your 1098"

No, you can enter the property taxes that you did not pay through your mortgage company elsewhere on the return. This information may not be included on your 1098 if you do not pay your taxes from an escrow account that is part of your mortgage.

To report property taxes not reported on your 1098:

  1. In the Federal > Deductions & Credits section of your return, scroll down to Your Home and click Start/Revisit next to Property (Real Estate) Taxes
  2. Enter your property taxes in the first field Additional property (real estate) taxes
