Is payroll deduction considered an HSA contribution? $0 for 2022 employer and payroll contributions is shown, but there is an amount shown in box 12 of W-2.

Take a closer look at your W-2 to be sure that everything in box 12 has been entered accurately. Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions reported on your W-2 should be in box 12 with a code W. This will trigger the amount to be carried to the HSA section of your return to be reconciled with your eligibility to contribute to the account.
