Is personal injury protection medical expense the same as medical coverage on car insurance?

    No. Personal Injury Protection covers  more than just your medical expenses.  It can also cover things like lost wages.  This would not be able to be deducted as medical insurance if you are itemizing your taxes.

    The only way, this would be deductible is if you have a business and use your car as a business.  If so, then you would be able to deduct your vehicle insurance if you are not taking the standard milage deduction.
