Question

Is standard deduction for the child care payment I entered mean what they will give me extra on my return or what they will take out

It does not have anything to do with standard deduction or itemizing.   If you paid someone to take care of your child while you were at work you can enter the information to get the childcare credit.  You will need the Social Security number or Tax ID of your childcare provider.

 

Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>You and Your Family>Child and Dependent Care Credit

 

The childcare credit is not a refund.  It will be used to lower your tax bill.
