Just learned that my husband can write off his Medical loss of Pilot's license as a medical expense.  When I added the expense, Turbo tax did not adjust the tax due for State (CA).  Wondering why...

Without seeing your return it is difficult to tell why an additional medical deduction didn't change your return.  Are you itemizing deductions on your federal return but not on California?  Do you have self-employment taxes that are not effected by the change in deductions?

You are probably better off having someone walk through the return with you to look at your entries so I recommend getting live expert help.

However, that requires upgrading your product which may be an expense you don't want.  In that case you can call an expert and ask questions over the phone.
