Question

Medical Expense

I am claiming the cost of my Memory Care facility costs.  I am a retired military and because of my high monthly expenses, I receive monthly payments from the VA under the Aid and Attendance program.  Would these payments be considered "reimbursement" of medical costs?

Thank you

Aid and Attendance benefits are not taxable and are not reported on your tax return. They are benefits and are not reimbursements of your medical expenses.
