My employer does not offer medical insurance. We are covered through a COBRA plan from partners past job until medicare age. I reimburse him for my portion. Can I write off that amount? This is the first year I will itemize.
No. The reason is because you are not liable for the payment of the premiums based on your question. Only your partner is eligible to claim the medical deduction he is liable for.
