My son is older than 26 so I had to pay his insurance premiums this year.   I am also able to claim him as a dependent.  Can I claim a deduction for the insurance premiums I paid for him this year?

If you are taking itemized deductions, the premium paid for your son's health insurance can be counted as part of the qualified medical expenses. In 2021, the IRS allows all taxpayers to deduct their qualified unreimbursed medical care expenses that exceed 7.5% of their adjusted gross income. You must itemize your deductions on Schedule A in order to deduct your medical expenses.
