The medical portion of your auto insurance premiums can't be used as a medical deduction on your tax return. If you have paid medical insurance premiums with after-tax money, you can enter the premium as a medical expense.  Your medical expenses must exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) to count toward your itemized deductions  and your itemized deductions must exceed your Standard Deduction for your filing status to itemize.
