Working on my Michigan taxes, asks me to enter the "Medical Portion of Auto Insurance Premiums".

What, exactly, are allowable premiums?  I see the following items, are they all allowed?

Bodily Injury Liability

Personal Injury Protection

Uninsured Motorists Bodily Injury

Underinsured Motorists Bodily Injury

MCCA (Michigan Catastrophic Claim Association)

MAIPF (Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility)

I know where to enter, just need to know exactly what I can use.

Thank you!

The first four that you list would appear to qualify; you might want to research your insurance policy to see what the last two might entail.

The relevant portion of your coverage statement would refer to Automobile Medical Payments Coverage, or something similar. It typically includes payments for medical treatment needed as a result of an auto accident.

See Health Insurance Premiums and Total Household Resources for more information.

I did already find the info on the link you included (thank you anyway!).  I guess my "concern" with your answer is when you say the first four items on my list "would appear" to qualify.  I am hoping to get an answer that is definitive.

Last thing I want or need is to try and deduct too much (or not enough for that matter) and get audited. Unfortunately Turbo Tax doesn't always include enough information to make this easy!

Personal Injury Protection is listed as health insurance premiums that can be reduced.
