If I own an RV as a vacation home and don't receive a 1098 from the lender, can I still deduct the mortgage interest?  The loan is secured by the RV and it has all components to qualify as a second home including sleeping, cooking and toilet.

You can deduct the interest you paid on your RV as mortgage interest on a second home, even if you do not receive a form 1098.

If your mortgage balance as of 1/1/2019 (beginning mortgage balance) is 0.00  (box 2) , then delete the loan from your return as you did not pay any interest on your loan.

The balance for the end of the year would be the balance just before you paid it off.
