Mortgage is more than 1M which number do i have to place in sche. A l. 10; the once that states in my 1098 from the bank or using the formula for 1M limit ?

Mortgage is higher than 1M so is to clarify which number i have to place in line 10 Schedule A of 1040. The once that i received from the bank on 1098 or the formula to use for the 1M maximun
