If you gave birth any day during the current tax year, you may be entitled to various exemptions and credits.

To make sure you receive all benefits eligible to you, if your baby was born in the current tax year, then they are considered to have lived with you all year.

  • My Info
  • Select "Edit" on the Personal info summary page next to the dependent you want to update and continue through the interview.
  • Select "The whole year" on the personal info screen reading "How many months did your child live with you?"
