My child was not on my 2019 tax return. I did not get my stimulus pay for her. Her dad claims even years on taxes. Who gets her stimulus payment for the first round?

Was the first payment for 2019 or 2020 taxes? Important to know for split households. I didn't have my new baby's social at the time I filed in 2019 (she was born in 2019). So I had to file an amended return. I did not receive a payment for her in the stimulus checks. Her dad claims her on even years and I claim her on odd years.

The stimulus applies to 2020 tax return. You will be asked to enter the stimulus amount you received when you prepare your 2020 tax return, and the IRS will attempt to apply the correct payment to you based on what is on your tax return.
