My father-in-law forgot to include property tax in the tax return. The return documents have already been electronically filed. What should he do?

He can file an amended tax return to add the property taxes.

Note: Wait until his originally filed return is fully processed before amending. This will avoid errors with the IRS processing. Once the original return is fully processed, use the link below for amending instructions.
