If I still owe turbotax What was $141.00 tooken out my federal taxes for? My gross refund was sapose to be $549.00 why idk because unemployment I received for a month should have been tax free according to the blogs.  And I should have been getting $141.00 back in state  but they say I owe them that much, so if I their keeping my $141.00 state tax refund why are they saying I still owe them too????

Your post is confusing, but let me try to answer.

First, you cannot pay State taxes due from a Federal refund (or vice-versa). You must pay them yourself. (TT only shows you the net result FYI).  And it sounds like you misread the $141 that you owe for state taxes as a refund.  Look at your actual Federal and State tax filings to see the amount you owe, or are due as a refund. Also, did you elect to have your TT fees paid from your refund?   Remember that there is an extra $40 charge for that.  However, when you signed up for Pay with Refund, you also agreed to let TT takes its fees if your refund was delayed beyond a certain point, so that may be what happened. But TT notifies you first.

As for unemployment comp, some states do not follow the new $10,200 Federal exemption. As for Federal, see this:
