Question

My HSA was not taxable last year, but it is this year despite being the same amount. Why? I recall that I had problems getting this to be non-taxable last year too.

The bottom line is I don't think that the total amount I contributed should be what is an excess contribution. It's seems like Turbotax thinks I don't qualify for an HSA, but I do.

You have to be enrolled in an HDHP to make contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). Did you make the selection thaty you were covered under a High Deductible Health Plan on December 1, 2024?

If you need to correct, return to the section, and answer the questions again. Refer to the TurboTax article Where do I enter Form 1099-SA? for navigation instructions.

For additional information, refer to the TurboTax article What is a high-deductible health plan (HDHP)?
