Question

My income qualified for the earned income credit guidelines for 2022. I didn't get the credit. If I possibly clicked a wrong button while doing taxes, can this be fixed?

@cieradamali

suggest running through this IRS app to assess whether you are eligible or not.

just because your income is be below the limit, your age may not be.  you would have to be over 24 years old / under 65 years old  to be eligible.  (I assume you are single / no children because you referenced the $16k threshold for single / o children),.

it might be you are simply not eligible.

I am over 24 & under 65 years old. I just tried the tool & it said I was eligible with an estimate of 448.

@cieradamali - then that points to a data entry issue..... suggest going back and checking what you entered...especially

1) check your birth year in TT - did you key that correctly?

2) what kind of income do you have - if it's all W-2 or 1099-NEC, then that should not be the issue.  what I am really asking about is did you inadvertantly enter some of the income as 'investment income' - that would cause a problem.   What line(s) between 1 and 11 is the income showing up on the Form 1040?
