I purchased a new home in 2018 and part of the loan includes a payment for Mortgage Insurance but it is not broken down in box 5 of my 1098.  Can I still input it in TurboTax?

Yes, you can still enter the Mortgage Insurance Premiums you paid in TurboTax.  In the past, there's been a deduction for mortgage insurance premiums, but the law that would allow this deduction this year is still under review. That is probably why your lender did not report it on your 1098. If you do not know the amount of mortgage insurance you paid in 2018, contact your lender.

If the tax break is approved TurboTax will automatically update your return. If it's approved after you file, we'll let you know so you can amend your return.

Okay, so I know the amount.  I should input it in the Turbo Tax line that asks for box 5 anyway?
