My return shows I get a foreign tax credit of $4. I do not know why for I have no income earned outside the US. Where should I go to correct this

That probably came from a 1099-DIV form, box 6. Lots of US investors pay a small amount in foreign tax through mutual funds and hence have a small Foreign Tax Credit credit generated from dividend income.

It could also be coming from a K1. Either way, its probably not a mistake. Having a small Foreign Tax Credit doesn't mean you "really" have foreign income. It can easily come from common US investment income.
