No longer could claim adult dependent for 2020 but child/adult never received stimulus payment. Who do you contact when both taxes for 2020 have been completed and still no payment? By filing taxes for 2021, will the question remain asking if you have received a stimulus check prior to 2021? Thank you.

The recovery rebate credit should have been claimed on the child/adult (new taxpayer) return. As long as the the individual was not claimed on another return and the individual qualified for the rebate then the rebate credit should have been recovered on the 2020 return. To receive the recovery rebate credit, it is critical that the new taxpayer could NOT be claimed by someone else. Please review the new taxpayer return and make sure this box was not checked. The tax return can be amended in order to properly file the return. Please refer to following link:
